Summer Shape Shifter and Other Special Programs

A good workout is like an expensive suit, it has to be tailored to achieve a perfect fit, to maximize the effect, to get the most for your time invested. Pigeon holing exercisers into classes or programs cannot best serve each individual.  In my experience every person is best served by a workout program based on their very individual goals, wants, strengths, limitations, etc., versus some group plan. 

Over the past five years I've developed a "playbook" of fitness programs, combining the timed sets of kettlebells with other cutting edge systems, systematically pushing the envelop on fitness, sports performance, body sculpting and weight loss. Allowing all-purpose kettlebell sets to lead the way, my staff and I are able generate highly individualized programs on a daily basis, using everything from kettlebells to yoga, for both our general membership and personal training clients.

Here's one sample workout that was generated for a 30-something female who's thinking about summer bikini season, wants to drop body fat, sculpt and tone specific areas, as well as achieve general health and fitness, but with less than 45 minutes to get it done.

Sample Workout #1: Summer Shape Shifter
This entire sequence consists of three 10-minute rounds of three separate events. Each event will be timed or otherwise calibrated, allowing a 15 second to 1 minute transition between each.
Total Set Length: 33 to 38 minutes

Round One
  • Kettlebell Snatch (4 minutes)
  • Assisted Pull Up (2 minutes or 20 reps)
  • Row (Tabata) (4 minutes)
Round Two
  • Kettlebell Jerk (4 minutes)
  • Step Up (2 minutes or 20 reps per leg)
  • Step Mill (4 minutes)
Round Three
  • Kettlebell Long Cycle (4 minutes)
  • Ab Pullover (2 minutes or 30 reps)
  • Sun Saluation (4 minutes)
